草莓视频APP publicizes information from various businesses, foundations, and civic organizations about scholarships they offer to students. The College is not affiliated with these groups and does not endorse their products or services. Never pay a fee to apply for a scholarship. The links are active at the time the information was received. If you find a link not working, please try to search by the name of the scholarship and also alert our office.

Scholarships

Deadlines: June 1 for fall semester and November 10 for spring semester
Established in 2005, The Herb Block Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school graduates, community college students, and adult learners who wish to continue their studies at Washington, D.C. area community colleges. 


Deadline: 20th of each month
Entrants must have designed an innovative project that makes a difference in the lives of others (e.g., a website, series of blogs, an app, fundraising event, etc.) and must submit an essay describing the goal of the particular project and provide supporting documentation. Entrants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (or the equivalent)  and be a citizen of, permanent resident of, or hold a valid student visa in the United States or Canada.

Eligibility:

The program is open to legal residents of the 50 states and Washington, D.C. who are at least 18 years old. Between December 2024 and August 2025, they must graduate with an associate’s degree in business or technology from a community college, have a minimum 3.3 GPA and intend to attend a four-year college or university beginning in fall 2025.

Who Can apply: Application Requirements

  • Applicant's permanent address must be within the National Capital Area of Washington, DC: Montgomery County, MD, Prince Georges County, MD, Arlington, VA, Alexandria, VA, Fairfax County, VA and Prince William County, VA
  • ?Applicants must have at least a "B" average (3.0 on a 4.0 scale).
  • ?Applicants must be full-time students majoring in one of the stated fields of study (Horticulture/Botany/Conservation/Biology/City Planning/Floriculture/Landscape Design/Plant Pathology/Environmental Concerns/Forestry/Agronomy/Agriculture/Wildlife/Ecology/Land Management or related subjects) at an accredited college or universe during the year for which the scholarship is to be granting.  Rising Freshman through graduate students are eligible to apply.
  • Submitted application must include:
    • including the short answer questions?
    • NCAGC Financial Aid Form is incorporated in the Application Form
    • ??3 Letters of Recommendation (including at least one from a teacher/professor) which discuss scholastic ability, personal character or work-related experience.  each letter should e limited to one typed page.
    • A copy of the student's complete official academic transcript for all courses taken, including the most recent semester.  Graduate students must also include transcripts for undergraduate courses.
    • The official transcript must be mailed from the academic institutions to NCAGC Scholarship Chair (address on application).

Who can apply:

  • Recipient must be a resident of Maryland.
  • Recipient must be a United States citizen or a lawful permanent resident of the United States.
  • Recipient must be seeking a degree in a nursing, medical, or related healthcare field.
  • Full-time recipients must maintain a minimum of 12 credit hours per term for undergraduate students and nine credit hours per term for graduate students. Part-time recipients must be working a minimum of 20 hours.

Applications will be accepted from December 1, 2025 through March 27, 2026

To qualify for The Long Nguyen and Kimmy Duong Undergraduate Scholarship Program

in Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Maryland, applicants must:

  • Be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents, and
  • Be enrolled at one of the following institutions:
         University of Maryland
         Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech)
         University of Virginia
         Northern Virginia Community College
